    We offer an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to ensure continuous improvement in the operation of the maintenance department, timely implementation of new procedures and methods, cost reduction and improvements in department efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for improvement and development projects in the maintenance department with direction from Plant Engineer and Director of Business Development:
    • Provide technical leadership in maintenance environment based on in-depth, expert understanding of equipment and machinery.
    • Develop preventive maintenance plans for equipment to ensure cost effective maintenance programs that meet manufacturer's recommended maintenance service, minimize equipment downtime for maintenance and improve overall equipment availability.
    • Interface with the Facilities and Infrastructure group to ensure plant infrastructure is sufficient to meet needs of production equipment.
    • Support installation and startup of new production equipment
    • Investigate, specify, procure and qualify maintenance shop equipment
    • Support the Maintenance Planner in the selection and sourcing of parts and service providers.
    • Develop specifications and work instructions for maintenance activities.
    • Monitor, analyze and make recommendations for improving department performance indicators including equipment downtime statistics, frequency of failures, cost of maintenance, etc.
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree, Masters degree a plus, in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Excellent leadership skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and a hands-on approach.
    • Excellent computer skills including strong knowledge of MS Office
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to travel both domestic and international.
    • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and time manage workload.
    • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

    Physical Demands

    Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Occasionally required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing or construction environment. May be required to climb a ladder on occasion and use strength to lift items needed to perform the functions of the job. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and/or controls. Frequently communicates with employees of all levels as well as outside vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.  

    Equipment & Machinery Used

    Desktop or lap top computer. Occasional lab equipment and other equipment related to processes being supported.
