  • Overview

    We offer an excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Information and Equipment Specialist to administrate the Laboratory Information Management System (LabsQ) and ensure that Product testing master data is accurate and testing results secure. Coordinate internal/external equipment services to ensure equipment is functional and properly calibrated.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct all functions in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance, record security, and minimal to no impact on business production.
    • Responsible for maintaining the product testing master data for all IVMI products within the LabsQ LIMS system.
    • Responsible to act as LabsQ system Power User and perform required tasks for IVMI. Including but not limited to:

      • Master data changes
      • System troubleshooting/functional testing
      • System reporting
    • Responsible for maintaining/improving procedures related to LabsQ users/functionality.
    • Responsible for coordinating internal/external equipment services to ensure equipment is functional and properly calibrated. Including but not limited to:

      • Coordinating internal/external maintenance services.
      • Creating/approving/filing maintenance records or equipment tracking records.
      • Performing/coordinating internal/external calibration services.
      • Creating/approving calibration records.
      • Issuing equipment status labels.
    • Assist in equipment installation, operational testing/troubleshooting, and relocation as necessary.
    • Assist in conducting internal/external audits.
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

    Qualifications

    • BS in a life science, computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience.
    • A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in a GXP regulated establishment preferably in the Quality Control Lab for a medical device facility, or equivalent education is required.
    • Knowledge of GMP/FDA/ISO regulations.
    • Detail-oriented with expertise in problem solving.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to effectively manage time to meet assigned deadlines and prioritize multiple work assignments.
    • Ability to travel both domestic and internationally.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision.
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Access and Excel. Previous LIMS/SAP experience preferred.

    Physical Demands

    Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day, view computer monitor and move about between departments and buildings to effectively fulfill the essential functions of the job.

     

    Equipment & Machinery Used

    Desktop or lap top computer. Equipment used in the calibration and monitoring of production and laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: weights, thermocouples, data acquisition units, thermometers, and data loggers. Production/laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: furnaces, thermometers, calipers, micrometers, digital balances, analytical balances, tensile testers, dilatometers, thermocouples, pH meters, ovens, kilns, pneumatic presses, time pieces, pressure transducers, eccentricity devices, coordinate measuring machines, spectrophotometers, load cells, polishers, milling machines, hand presses, saws, particle size analyzers, and various gauges.
