  • Overview

    We offer an excellent opportunity for a Calibration Technician responsible for the monitoring and facilitating the calibration program. Ensures operations are completed utilizing conforming and stable equipment and for maintaining records of that conformance. Responsible to ensure that calibrations meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

    • Responsible for calibration or facilitation of calibration of quality relevant equipment.
    • Maintains the calibration database and ensures calibrations occur as scheduled.
    • Ensures calibration equipment is properly maintained and available to meet scheduled calibration needs.
    • Coordinates external calibration service supplier visits as assigned and assesses resulting reports for accuracy, completeness and conformance to requirements.
    • Issues equipment status labels after ensuring compliant calibration. Responsible for ensuring equipment in use is accurately labeled as to calibration status.
    • Ensure calibration standards are traceable to national standards as appropriate.
    • Ensure calibration SOP's are evaluated periodically and updated as necessary.
    • Responsible for overseeing calibration activities related to the implementation and/or transfer of new production/testing equipment in close cooperation with Quality, Production, and Dental Technology.
    • Investigates/evaluates new equipment, processes, and software.
    • Monitors and trends calibration results to ensure stable and conforming processes.
    • Assist in conducting internal/external audits.
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.


    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, undergraduate degree desired.
    • At least 2 years experience working in a metrology lab, an FDA regulated industry or a combination of experience and relevant education.
    • Familiarity with ISO 17025 preferred.
    • Previous calibration experience required.
    • Previous LIMs experience preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to effectively manage time to meet assigned deadlines and prioritize multiple work assignments.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision.
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Excel.
    • Competent in utilizing statistical analysis tools.

    Physical Demands

    Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day, view computer monitor and move about between departments and buildings to effectively fulfill the essential functions of the job.


    Equipment & Machinery Used

    Desktop or lap top computer. Equipment used in the calibration and monitoring of production and laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: weights, thermocouples, data acquisition units, thermometers, and data loggers. Production/laboratory equipment requiring calibration, including but not limited to: furnaces, thermometers, calipers, micrometers, digital balances, analytical balances, tensile testers, dilatometers, thermocouples, pH meters, ovens, kilns, pneumatic presses, time pieces, pressure transducers, eccentricity devices, coordinate measuring machines, spectrophotometers, load cells, and various gauges.
