  • Overview

    We offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Control Manager to plan, coordinate, and direct quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Oversees the evaluation of product for quality and reliability and manages the testing laboratories and department personnel.

    • Manage the routine operations of the Quality Control department including setting and communicating priorities based on the production schedule. Provide ongoing quality control support to all departments as required. Actively participate in production planning meetings, provide timely communication to internal and external customers.
    • Evaluate test results in relation to product specifications. Recommends rework, additional testing or other supplementary actions to determine product disposition.
    • Manage and perform investigation of out-of-specification laboratory results ensuring that all investigations proceed in a logical, orderly and timely manner and that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are identified when necessary, review and approve investigation reports.
    • Maintain records and files related to quality assurance activities, such as device history records, SPC data, analysis material, and other similar data. Maintains computerized records of related data.
    • Manage, motivate, develop, and coach members of the QC department to achieve identified objectives, maximize their potential, and continuously improve their individual effectiveness in meeting business needs. Develop and implement procedures, systems and training activities to provide an appropriate level of scientific expertise within the laboratory.
    • Ensure proper and continuous operation of all equipment and related software in laboratories, including qualification, validation, and calibration. Assist in troubleshooting as warranted.
    • Oversee local quality control functions in SAP, laboratory information management (LabsQ), and quality issue management systems.
    • Create, update, and review relevant procedures (SOPs) and test plans. Interpret SOPs, methods and specifications and provide clarity as needed. Create, document and implement inspection criteria, procedures and test plans as needed.
    • Conduct and/or assist with internal quality audits as assigned.
    • Develop and implement systems to improve laboratory compliance and/or productivity.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance as directed by Quality Systems policies and procedures.
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.


    • Bachelors of Science degree and at least 8 years relevant work experience in a regulated industry. At least three years supervisory experience.
    • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated abilities to resolve diverse problems, to understand the importance of structure, organization, resource management and to complete critical tasks in a timely manner
    • Ability to maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, colleagues, subordinates and supervisors.
    • Knowledge of ISO 17025 and calibration system managements.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work with people from all levels of the company and from different international or domestic facilities within the company.
    • Excellent color perception/visual acuity. Preferred but not required.
    • Familiarity with standard laboratory testing equipment and laboratory information systems.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to ensure compliance to applicable laws, guidelines, policies, procedures and practices.
    • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

    Equipment & Machinery Used

    Proficiency with milling machines and CAD/CAM technology as related to the dental industry, spectrophotometer, dilatometer, coordinate measuring machine, tensile strength tester, particle size analyzer, sample fabrication and polishing equipment, micrometers, XRD, dental furnaces, hardness tester.
